This inclusive, mixed-level class explores straps and strap loops. “Straps” refers to the apparatus when wrists are cinched in, and “strap loops” when loops are open for more versatility. We will experiment with both configurations throughout the series. Students build foundational skills, strength, and flexibility to safely progress toward more complex movements. Classes emphasize shoulder warm-ups, control, alignment, and include spinning, swinging, and beats! Prerequisites - At least 1 year of aerial experience - 3 pull-ups -3 hanging leg lifts - 3 consecutive inverts About The Teachers: Jade White ran away with the circus in 2011. Since then they’ve performed at circuses, nightclubs, festivals and theaters around the world from Las Vegas to Vietnam. Jade specializes in: aerial pole, silks, lyra and straps. They also enjoy performing flow arts, cyr wheel, drag king and tightrope walking. Jade loves to empower their students to express themselves authentically on the apparatus and challenge them to reach new heights -quite literally- Please read the following before purchasing: CANCELLATIONS - All 6-week series can be cancelled for a full-refund until 48 hours prior to the start of series, and for a partial refund until 24 hours prior to the start of the series. We are unable to offer refunds within 24 hours of the start of the series. - Individual classes within a 6-week series cannot be rescheduled if missed; please be sure you can attend each class. Aerial Arts Hawai’i is fully insured for aerial and acrobatic sports to protect our students and our instructors. That said, aerial is a high risk sport, even the gentler varieties like aerial yoga, and should be treated as such. All students will be required to fill out a liability release form prior to attending class.
